Venue Information

Opened in 1900, Boston Symphony Hall is a landmark concert venue and the home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Its distinguished musical history and celebrated acoustics make it a destination for classical music fans, while its concert program also features guest artists and special performances.

The hall is especially known for its acoustics, developed with input from acoustician Wallace Clement Sabine. The room's design helps create a clear, resonant sound throughout the auditorium, making the listening experience a major part of attending a performance.

Events and ticket prices vary by performance, date, and seat location. Check the specific event listing for current availability and pricing, and review the ticket terms before completing a purchase. For popular concerts, comparing available sections early can provide more choice.

Seating Information

Symphony Hall has a traditional concert-hall layout, with seating arranged around the stage rather than in a sports-arena configuration. The venue is designed to support focused listening, and the best choice depends on whether you prioritize proximity, a broad view of the stage, or a particular budget.

• Orchestra seating places guests on the main floor and offers a close perspective on performers. Seats farther from the stage may provide a more balanced view of the full ensemble.
• Balcony seating provides an elevated perspective across the hall. It can be a useful option for guests seeking a wider view of the stage and auditorium.

Seat views and sound can differ by row and location. Consult the seating map for the specific event before choosing tickets, and consider accessibility needs when selecting seats.

Parking Information

Boston Symphony Hall is in the Symphony neighborhood, where parking availability and traffic can vary with performance schedules and other local events. Allow extra time to arrive, particularly for evening concerts.

Drivers can look for nearby public garages or metered street parking, but spaces and rules vary. Confirm current rates, operating hours, and restrictions directly with the parking provider before setting out. Public transportation may also be a practical alternative for reaching the venue, depending on your starting point.
